The purpose of the Toronto Japanese Connection is to spread information to those interested in things Japanese here in Toronto. There are many places in this city some of you may or may not be aware of where you’re able to study the culture & language with large amounts of resources - meet and converse with native Japanese speakers and make Japanese friends.
The majority of Japanese whom I’ve met come to Toronto to be educated in English and are seeking Canadian friendship for conversational exchange and/or to hang out with and to learn about the way we do things here in Canada. Many Japanese who are here have previous knowledge of English making it a lot easier for us Canadians to get by understanding and vice versa.
From personal experience, I can say that the Japanese here are a very easygoing people - easily approachable and easy to make quick friends with.
There are quite a few groups out there that’ll give you the opportunity to do as mentioned above.
